A shared illusion

Those who know more than others tend to use this as a weapon. As if the mere accumulation of information has any relevance. Knowledge is worthless without application.

To know something means you can be held accountable. Pleading ignorance of that which you know is a dicey proposition. Your only hope is that others do not find out.

Information is bought and sold. People will even kill to learn the most well-guarded secrets. In the end, the lust for knowledge is merely a play for power.

What you do not know can hurt you. So it is imperative to be as informed as possible. But always be willing to admit there are things of which you are not aware.

Knowledge is all in your head. And the power that comes from such things is merely a shared illusion. When learning is eschewed, its might is rendered impotent.

Use what you know to make things better. Do not become conceited in your own understanding. For the pride you cling to will fall prey to a single revelation.

  1. But, isn't using knowledge as a weapon an application of the knowledge itself?

    1. It is an application, but it does not make it relevant. Destroying is easy. But it should only be employed when you intend to rebuild.

  2. Worldly knowledge is as fleeting as those who worship it. So much "Knowledge" is influenced by the agenda's of those who wish to control. Only invest time and energy in what rings true to your being, the rest is just a snare trap to waste and control your precious time on this Earth.

    1. Knowledge is indeed fleeting, Chris. Here today, disproved tomorrow. People chase after the vain hope they will achieve enlightenment.

  3. The important thing here is to never come to a stand-still. Yes, we do not know everything, and we likely never will; however, we cannot just become idle because we don't know the truth about everything. Sometimes, you have to take a risk based on a theory. If that theory is later proven wrong, then you can alter your path based on new theories. Yes, this can hurt others and you should take responsibility for that; however, you need to keep moving and not live a life of second guessing. The world is a big place and very crowded. It is damn impossible to crunch numbers of that size. Just do the best you can and progress as swiftly as you can. Never stop.

    1. Unfortunately, people are proud of what they know. They will fight tooth and nail to maintain their self-deception, Tommy. For when it is revealed, they will have nothing.
