Expect the unexpected

Life can change in a moment, so one should always expect the unexpected. That which we thought would last, can be brutally snatched away. And it is up to us to soldier on.

A single incident might drastically alter your entire existence. Cherish the present, before it is past. No matter how good the times, they could always end.

Those who take care, are better prepared for eventualities. They know not to rest on their laurels. For that which is celebrated today, could be vilified tomorrow.

Be ever vigilant. For evil is a restless beast always seeking a victim. It thinks nothing of tearing the heart from another, since it does not have one of its own.

It takes courage to stand in the face of this madness. There is no shame in failing when you have given your all. Death is merely a change of perspective.

What is within cannot be taken, only surrendered. The talons of greed reach just so far. Fight to ensure what you love is not lost to the whims of the world.

  1. Yeah, I lost my car, my job and my home in the blink of an eye... and things got better somehow. I see didn't see the bad until it slapped me. I didn't see the good until it slapped me. I hope the next thing to slap me is the best hand yet.

    1. Life is always throwing curves. But once you connect, they get knocked over the fence. And a dangerous predicament turns into a win for the home team.

  2. "Expect the unexpected" is actually one of my little mantras that I say to myself when I am going into an uncomfortable situation. I actually find it difficult to deal with things I don't expect. It always makes me edgy. I know your blog is more focused on major things, but see, even the little things get me. It is really best not to expect every little part of your plan to go off without a hitch.

So, I ask you, Don, in my own goofy conversational way: Is my problem still relevant to your blog? Please reply! :D

    1. The little things are like snowflakes that make up an avalanche. These details will kill you if you let them. Just don't let your concerns snowball into paranoia.

    2. And it will become paranoia left unchecked. I really dislike that. Paranoia doesn't seem to do anyone any good. It hurts all parties around the paranoid individual. I don't want anything to do with it. What I'd like is to be clear of mind so I don't worry about whatever will happen. And I want the strength of mind to deal with the unexpected. I have always struggled with this. I am like a mouse who gets his cheese on the hour, and on one particular hour, the cheese doesn't come. What then? Do I wait another hour, or do I go get my own cheese? I want to get into the habit of getting my own cheese, Don!

    3. Paranoia would say the world is out to get you. In reality, the world lumbers on not knowing that we exist. Survival means staying out of its way.
